For the fifth straight year it will be the Oran Eagles and Advance Hornets facing off in the district championship game.  The last four years these two have met in the Class 2 district 3 title game with Oran winning the first three while Advance won last year.  This year, however, they will compete for the Class 1 District 2 crown Thursday evening at Bell City.

Last night the Eagles fell behind 3-0 but Oran went on
an 8-0 run and forced the number five seed Richland Rebels into a time out with 5:52 left in the first period. There was 4:29 left and the score was 10-4 when Richland took time out number two.  Apparently there were no answers in the Rebel huddle as the Eagles were up 20-6 after one.

The lead was 20 at the half, 42-22 and the game was all but over.

Richland did cut the lead by two in the third quarter 53-35 but Oran outscored their opponent 18-7 in the last eight minutes and won 71-42.

The Eagles had four players score in double figures, led by Hunter Schlosser's game-high 22 points.  Thomas Trankler had 14 and added five assists, Jacob Priggel scored 12 and had nine rebounds, and Jason Bennett chipped in 10.

Oran, as a team shot 63% from inside the arc (25 of 40) and 80% from free throw line (12 of 15)

The number seed Eagles, now 19-8, will take on the
number two seed Advance Hornets for the district crown on Thursday night at 7:30 pm at Bell City.
