Junior High girls lose on the road

The Oran Junior High School girls basketball teams were swept on the road last night at Cape Central.  The 7th grade lost 10-8, the 8th grade fell 40-18.

In the opener, the Eagles led after one, 4-3 but could not hold on dropping the two point decision.  Grace Davis had 6 points and Hope Woodfin added 2.

In the nightcap, Oran trailed 10-2 after the first quarter and 22-8 at the half as the Tigers cruised to the 22 point win.

The 6th grader Davis scored 6, Woodfin hit for 4.  Hannah Boshell and Mallory Lowes both chipped in 3.  Chloe Prindle added 2 points.

Coach Ethan Evans said, "They were just bigger and physically tougher than we were. Most of the girls were not up to the challenge. Hopefully we will learn from this and get better going forward."

The 7th grade season comes to an end with an 8-1 record.  The 8th grade is now 7-4.

The 8th grade will conclude the regular season this evening when they play at Delta.  Game time is 6 pm and it will be a "Pink Out" game.  All fans wearing pink will be admitted free.
