Baseball blasts Braves

The Oran High School baseball team ended a three-game losing streak yesterday with a 19-0 three-inning shellacking of the visiting Scott County Central Braves.

The Eagles put up six in the first and 13 in the second.

Todd Priggel was 3-3 with two triples and four runs driven in.  Kaden Hargrove was 2-2 and drove in three.

Kole Simms (2-0) tossed the three-inning shutout.  He gave up two hits, did not walk a batter and struck out five as the Eagles improved to 8-6.  They will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Kelly to take on the Hawks at 4:30.

Coach Joe Bickings said, "It was good to get back in the win column.  We were patient at the plate and when we got our pitch we did something with it.  I also thought that Kole Simms did an excellent job throwing strikes.  It was an overall nice win and hopefully, it gets us going in the right direction with districts around the corner."
