T&F competes in conference meet

On Saturday the Oran High School track and field teams participated in the SEMO Conference meet at Notre Dame Regional High School.  It was the first time that all conference members met on the same day at the same location.  The squads were broken down into four divisions based on enrollments.  The Eagles were grouped with Bell City, Chaffee, Delta, Hayti, Scott City and Scott County Central.  Chaffee, Hayti and Scott City are Class 2, while the rest are Class 1 and will compete against one another next Saturday in the district meet at Cape Central.

The girls finished third out of seven teams with 44 points and the boys were fifth out of seven totaling 57 points.

The boys claimed three golds.

The 4x100M team of Tyson Goodale, Diesel Cato, Kaiden Massey and Samuel Shoemaker won with a time of 49.03. Goodale also claimed the high jump with a leap of 6-00.00, Cato finished fourth at 5-02.00 and Langdon Scheeter won the 1600 M (4.53.49).  Shoemaker was second in the 400M (58.41) and Cato was fourth (1:03.76).  Goodale was third in the long jump (17-09.00) and Massey was seventh in the same event (16-02.00).  Massey was fourth in the 100M (12.72), he finished seventh in the discus (82-10) and Logan Fouts was 10th (45-02).  Fouts was sixth in the 200M (29.87).

For the girls, Savannah Below was second in the high jump at 4-04.00 and the long jump (13-07.0) and she was third in the 100M at 15.17.  Traci Hency was second in the discus (66-04), while Paige Bradley finished 10th (47-08).  In the shot put, Hency was fourth (24-01.00) and Bradley was seventh (24-03.00).  Hewitt was third in the 400M (1:14.55) and was fourth in the long jump (11-05.00).

The Class 1 District 1 meet will be held Saturday at Cape Central.  Start time is 9 am.
