Bernie's offensive onslaught continued in the fifth.  Payne retired the first two, but then a single, homer and a walk chased her.  Alyssa Spane came in in relief.  She faced four and did not retire a batter.  The Lady Mules had three singles and a walk-off grand slam to invoke the mercy rule.

Cauble, Ramsey and Boshell had the only hits for the Lady Eagles who ended its season at 14-6.

Coach Jim Eftink said, "Marcum (Bernie's pitcher) is the type of pitcher who can shut you down and she had our number. Anytime we got something going she came through with exactly the pitch she needed.  We really haven’t played small ball in a couple of years so it was kinda nice to see all those bunts laid down. Those bunts kept the game close for a while.  Seasons over and it’s the end of an era.  I’d like to say thanks to our seniors who have been a big part of the softball program for the past four years.  God bless and good luck to Jessie, Kaitlyn, Claire and Leah."

The senior class went 56-19 over their four years.
