JHBB Win Streak Continues at Bell City

Oran Junior High Boys Basketball teams continued their winning ways last night at Bell City.

The 7th grade Eagles had to have a desperation 3 from Ty Johnson at the buzzer for a 20-18 victory.  The teams only played 2 quarters due to Bell City's small number of players.  Oran led 16-3 after 1 but the Cubs clawed their way back taking an 18-17 lead with 3.4 seconds remaining.  After Eagles' head coach Joe Shoemaker called a time out Johnson took the inbounds pass and dribbled down the right sideline past half court.  The shot careened off the backboard through the rim as the buzzer sounded.  Tyson Loper led Oran with 6 points.

Oran's 8th grade team had a much easier time as they jumped out to a 28-2 lead after one quarter, by halftime the lead was 48-5.  The Eagles ended up winning 74-15.  Jacob Shoemaker led all scorers with 32.  Layne Robinson had 15 points while Landon Stanberry added 12.

The Eagles will take their 4-0 records into action Thursday night at 6 p.m. as they host the Richland Rebels.  Following the game will be the Annual Booster Club Bonfire where all fall and winter athletes will be recognized.  Hot dogs, chips and soda will be served.
