In what, according to the seedings, should have been the closest game of the first round of the Scott-Miss conference girls varsity tournament, the #4 Oran Eagles defeated the #5 Delta Bobcats by 38 points in a game that was decided in the first quarter.  It was the largest margin of victory of the evening.

The Lady Eagles, now 8-2, led 14-2 after the first eight minutes and the rout was on.  Oran held Delta to single digit scoring in all four quarters and won by a final score of 51-13.

Allie Cummins scored 14 points and dished out 3 assists.  Brianna Stause poured in 11.  She was 3 for 3 from behind the arc and 2-2 from the free throw line. Ashlyn McIntosh chipped in 10.

Hannah Scherer grabbed a team high 6 rebounds.  Cummins, Stause, McIntosh and Tatum May had 5 boards each.

The varsity Eagles will be back in action on Thursday at 5:30 pm as they will take on the #1 seed Chaffee Red Devils.

The second seeded junior varsity Eagles will play tonight at 7 pm as they take on the three seed and hosts Kelly Hawks.

(Interesting note on the jv:  so far this season they have only played 6 quarters of basketball.  They are 2-0)
