Varsity Action: The Eagles jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the opening minutes of tonight's game but then the offense went stagnant and the lead was only 10-9 after one period of play. Oran ratcheted up the defensive pressure in the second, however and out-scored the Jay 20-2, as the defense fed the offense and the Eagles allowed only two free throws for a 30-11 advantage at the intermission.
The Eagles were without the services of senior Hunter Schlosser, who will be
approximately two weeks due to a foot injury sustained during practice.
In Schlosser's absence, Oran was led by Jacob Priggel's 19 points. Max Priggel tallied 13 for Oran who is now 14-6. The Eagles shot a paltry 33% (20-59) from the floor but sizzled from the line at 91% (11-12).
Jacob Priggel also topped the team with six steals and four assists. Garrison Mangels grabbed a team-leading nine rebounds to go along with his eight points
soared out to a 24-7 first quarter lead and never looked back on their way to a 69-29 victory improving their record to 8-6.
Cole Priggel scorched the nets for 30 points to lead all scorers and did not play in the fourth quarter. Layne Johnson added 13.
