The Lady Eagles came away empty-handed tonight in their contests at Charleston.
Varsity Action: For the fourth straight game the Oran Lady Eagles wound up on the losing end of the final margin. And for the fourth straight game that final margin was less than 10 points. Tonight Oran fell to the Blue Jays by a score of 57-49.
Oran fell behind 30-23 at the half and was not able overcome that in the second half as the Eagles saw their record drop to 2-3 in conference and 10-10 overall.
Turnovers hurt Oran tonight as they committed 31 during the 32 minutes of play under the relentless, swarming pressure of the Jay defense.
On the positive side, Tatum May scored 14 points and had seven steals. Ashlyn McIntosh had five assists to go along with 12 points while Hannah Scherer grabbed nine rebounds and chipped in nine points
Junior Varsity Action: It appeared early on that the jv Eagles would pick up their first conference win after taking an 8-3 lead after the first quarter. But Charleston outscored Oran 17-4 to take a 20-12 two-quarter game victory.
The loss drops the younger squad to 0-2 and 3-6.
Kenzie Graviett scored six, Abbey Essner added four and Lexi Davis rounded out the scoring with two.
Upcoming Action: The Lady Eagles will next take to the court on Monday as they travel to Marble Hill and take on the Woodland Cardinals. The first game tips off at 6 pm.
