JV Eagles lose to Rams

The Oran High School junior varsity boys basketball team hung with the favored the Scott City Rams for a half, but in the end dropped it's third place game of the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament 52-35.

The Eagles trailed 13-10 after one, but were able to forge a 20-20 tie at half-time.

The game was still tied 31-31 midway through the third quarter but the Rams went on 22-4 run to close out the game.

Drew Reischman topped the list of scorers for Oran with 13.  Ben Fox added 11, including a trey and was 2 of 2 from the line.

Joey Phillips tallied 4.  Bradley Brooks, Avery Mitchem and Kalen Read each scored 2 points. Peyton McVay hit a free throw.

Jon (Downtown) Shipley played but did not score.

The junior varsity Eagles were 4 of 9 from the line for 44.4%

They are now 5-10 on the season and will next play on Tuesday, February 2nd when they host conference foe Chaffee at 6 pm.
