Track and field competes

Oran's track and field teams opened its season on Thursday with an open meet at East Prairie.  While no medals or team results were kept, Madison Ramsey came in third place in the 800M with a time of 3:01.24.

On the boys' side, Bradley Brooks was the only Eagle competitor.  He ran the 100M in 12.18, the 200M in 24.84 and the long jump with a leap of 16' 6 1/4".

Several girls participated in the 100M.  Ramsey topped Oran's team with a 15.0 followed by Savannah Below at 15.21, Heather Gosche was next at 15.25, then Cassie Cochran at 15.54 and Morgan Kern at 16.0.

Gosche ran the 200m in 31.2.

The 4x200 relay team of Kern, Below, Cochran and Gosche finished with at time of 2:09.63.

Below competed in the Long jump with a distance of 11' 8 1/2" and the Triple jump 26' 2".

Track coach Ethan Evans said, "I was pleased with the way we performed in our first track meet. It was the first meet ever for all of our girls and they did very well. Bradley also ran close to his times from last year."

They will be back in action next Thursday at 4 pm once again at East Prairie.
