The Oran girls basketball team picked up a 30 point win on the road last night defeating the Hornets 41-11. The first year Advance program only had enough players for one game.
Coach Ethan Evans said, "We got off to a slow start once again. That is something we have to get better at going forward. After the 1st quarter, we stepped up our defensive effort and started hitting some shots. We continued to miss some easy layups and we definitely need to clean that up as well."
The Eagles were up 11-6 after one but led 24-6 at the intermission and cruised the rest of the way.
Hannah Boshell scored 10 to lead a balanced Oran scoring attack. Grace Davis had nine, Rylee Boshell added eight, Hope Woodfin chipped in six.
Emma Priggel totaled five and Addie Nichols rounded out the scoring with three. Every Eagle in the book saw court action.
As a team, they hit 7 of 13 free throw attempts for 54%
Oran improved to 9-0. They will be back in action next Monday, at Kelly. It will also be McTeachers' night at the Boomland McDonalds. The first game starts at 6 pm.
