Volleyball takes the number 1 seed in SEMO South Pool Play

For the second year in a row, the Oran High School volleyball team was able to secure the South Division's top seed during the SEMO Conference pool play.  Last night the Eagles went 8-0 to claim the top spot during play at New Madrid County Central.  Last year they finished 7-1.

Oran opened the evening with a 25-19 and 25-9 victory over the hosts.

The next opponent was Scott City.  The Eagles squeaked by 25-18 and 27-26.  That was followed by wins over Kennett 25-18 and 25-17.  The evening ended with another tight one.  Oran defeated Charleston 27-25 and 25-14.

During the regular season, Oran had lost to both Kennett and New Madrid County Central.

The Eagles will take on the winner of the Sikeston vs Charleston match on Thursday at the Cape Sportsplex at 6 pm.

Details of the tournament:

Higher seed is the home team. Sportsplex will have a full concession stand (so no outside food or drink will be allowed in) and admission at Sportsplex will be $3 adults and $2 students.  They do not have lockers rooms but they have plenty of restrooms to change in.
