Eagles rock Rebels

The Oran Junior High School boys basketball teams picked up two easy wins last night on the road at Richland High School.

The 7th grade won 32-2 in a two-quarter contest.  The 8th grade prevailed 56-18.  Both had a turbo-clock.

The 8th grade played first.

Coach Joe Shoemaker said, "I thought the 8th grade responded with a good effort and focus after their loss. We also shot the ball the best we ever have this year in a game."

Chris Collins and Samuel Shoemaker led a balanced scoring attack with 11 apiece.

Diesel Cato and Nick Romas both tossed in eight.  Quentin Senciboy scored six.  Seth Cauble, Landon Cochran and JKwon Davis each scored four.

They hit 2 of 5 free throws for 40%.

The older squad is now 5-1.

The evening wrapped up with a quick seventh-grade win.

Shoemaker said, "The 7th grade all played very well and did a good job of sharing the ball."

The Eagles led 20-2 after one and held the hosts to a snowball in the second.

All eight Oran players available scored.

Nic Massey, Noah Mitchem and Kolten Payne each scored six.   Parker Diebold and Robby Menz had four apiece.  Ryan Burke, Luke Peterson and Camdyn Triblett had two apiece.

They shot no free throws and improved to 6-0 overall.

Both teams will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Advance for a 6 pm tip-off.
