What's happenin' (1/8-1/12)

It will be a busy basketball week for the Oran High School teams.

The jayvee boys who are 2-1 in conference and 7-1 overall and the varsity with a record of  2-1 and 9-3 will host Scott-Miss rival Kelly on Tuesday at 6 pm.  The Hawks varsity has a mark of 0-1 and 4-7.

The girls' conference tournament starts on Monday, but the Eagles don't play until Wednesday.

The junior varsity (0-0 & 2-0), have the top seed.  They will face the fourth-seeded Kelly Hawks at 4 pm in Scott City.   Immediately following that game the varsity (1-0 & 8-3), who is also seeded first, will face the winner of Monday's contest between (4) Charleston and (5) Kelly.

On Thursday, both the boys and the girls will play.

The boys will travel to Woodland to take on the 4-8 Cardinals.  The varsity defeated Woodland in the opening round of the Christmas tournament 78-38 on December 26th.

Depending on the results from Wednesday night the jv will play for the championship at 7 pm against the winner of (2) East Prairie or (3) Chaffee or at 4:00 against the loser for third.  The championship game for the varsity is scheduled for 8:30.  The third-place game is scheduled for 5:30.

Friday evening will see the Eagles travel north to Perryville to take on the Indians of St. Vincent.  The district opponent enters the week at 10-2.
