The athletic schedule is slim this coming week, the last week of school. But included in it is the biggest baseball game of the year, thus far.
On Monday, the top-seed 13-8 Eagles will face the number-three seed, Bell City Cubs (9-10) for the Class 1 District 2 championship at 4pm in Oran. These two squads have met each of the last three years in the championship game on the way to the Cubs claiming state titles in each of those seasons.
Should the Eagles win, they would advance to the state sectional game at a site and against an opponent yet to be determined on the following Monday, May 21.
