Basketball bombs Bravettes

The Oran Junior High School girls basketball teams continued their winning ways by picking up wins at conference foe Scott County Central. The seventh grade won 42-6 and the eighth-graders prevailed 51-5.

Coach Ethan Evans said, "Our defense responded to the challenge once again and was superb throughout. The game got a little physical and we didn’t shoot the ball as well as I would have liked. Overall our effort was good and it was a nice road victory."

That Eagle defense held the hosts scoreless until after halftime, taking a 28-0 lead into the intermission.

Addie Nichols poured in 25.  Bralynn Morgan scored 13.

Lilly Knotts and Scarlett Schlosser each added a field goal.

They were 11-21 on free throws for 53%.  They improved to 4-0 in the Scott-Miss and 6-0 overall.

The eighth-graders led 19-5 at the break and held Scott County scoreless the rest of the way enrout to the 46 point win.

Grace Davis had 21.

Emma Priggel scored nine.  Liza Dannenmueller had eight and Maddie Stickel added six.  Laney Shy hit for three.  Carly Gloth and Nichols each hit a field goal.

They were 7-21 from the free throw line for 33%, They improved to 4-0 and 7-0.

The Eagles will look to continue their win streaks on Thursday when they host Advance at 6 pm.
