Jr High keeps winning

The Oran High School junior high girls basketball team picked up a pair of easy wins on Monday at home against the Bloomfield Wildcats.  The seventh-grade won 52-2, while the eighth grade rolled, 78-4.

Coach Evans said, "Once again our defensive effort was superb. We hit the boards extremely hard and pushed the tempo to get a lot of easy shots."

Addie Nichols led the team in the first game, with 22.  Bralynn Morgan was right behind with 21.  Each hit a three-pointer.

Scarlett Schlosser added five, while Sophie Bryeans and Molly Spane both chipped in two.

The team was 6-20 from the line for 30%.  They improved to 5-0.  They held the visitors scoreless until the 4:27 mark of the third quarter the score was 38-2.

The nightcap saw the host jump out early, shutting out the 'Cats until just under a minute gone in the second period.  That bucket made the score 25-2.

Oran tossed another shutout in the third.

Grace Davis scored 20, Liza Dannenmueller finished with 17 and Carly Gloth had 11.

Emma Priggel had nine, Addie Nichols 7, Maddie Stickel 6. Schlosser and Laney Shy rounded out the scoring with four each.

Gloth, Priggel and Nichols each dropped in a trey.

The squad was 7-11 from the charity stripe for 64%.  They improved to 6-0.
