What's happenin' (9/17-9/22)



It will be another busy sports week in Eagle Nation.

All three fall sports are in action on Monday.

Baseball (3-6) will travel to (4-4) Woodland.  First pitch is 4:30.  The undefeated junior high girls basketball teams will host Meadow Heights.  The seventh grade is scheduled to tip-off at 6 pm.  The is no information on the Panthers record.  Volleyball (3-7) will travel to Malden to take on the 7-3-1 Greenwave, also at 6 pm.

Volleyball travels to Scott City on Tuesday to take on the Rams, who enter the week with a 2-1-1 mark.  Also, the junior high girls host Charleston.

On Wednesday, baseball will make the long trek south to take on the 10-1 Cooter Wildcats.  Game time is 4:30.

The junior high school girls will travel to East Prairie on Thursday for a 6 pm game.  Also that evening the junior varsity volleyball team will play at Jackson.  That too begins at 6.

On Saturday,  the junior varsity volleyball team will participate in a tournament at Scott City.  The Eagles will have three pool games followed by bracket play.  At 9:15 am they face Meadow Heights, at 10:45 it will be Jackson, followed by Scott City at 12:15.  Depending on the results of these games, the girls will be seeded into one of two four-team brackets.

Also on Saturday, baseball will travel to Bernie.  the junior varsity will play five innings beginning at 11 am.  That will be followed by a full varsity contest.

Another event that is still in the planning stages, and we will have more info when it becomes available, is a ring ceremony for your 2018 Class 1 Missouri State baseball champs.

The ring ceremony will be held at 6 pm Saturday, September 22nd in the High School Gym.  The public is invited.
