Two to the next level

A pair of Lady Eagles recently signed to continue their athletic careers into their collegiate years.

On Tuesday, Claire Ramsey signed a national letter of intent to play softball at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy.  She will join fellow Oran alum Megan Tenkhoff as a member of the Eutectics

Tenkhoff, a sophomore at the school is listed as a second baseman and a catcher on the school's roster online.

Last year, the school, which is located in the city's central west end, was 9-31.  They compete in the NAIA and in the American Midwest Conference.

Ramsey, as a junior,  batted .508, with eight doubles, four triples and two home runs.  She drove in 27 runs.  She was named All-conference, All-district, All-region and academic All-State.  She was primarily a catcher, but also saw time in the infield and outfield and pitched as needed.

On Wednesday, Leah Cauble inked with D-II Union University in Jackson, TN to continue her basketball career.

The Bulldogs participate in the Gulf South Conference.  last year they finished 32-4, finishing at the final four, losing to the eventual national champions.

Cauble has 2729 career points.  Has been named All-state three times, All-district three times and conference player of the year three times, as well.
