What's happenin' (1/14-1/19)



Every day will have basketball action for the Oran High School teams.

Starting on Monday both the boys, 13-1 and the girls 9-4, who are no longer ranked but still receiving votes, will be in action.  The boys will host 11-4 Bernie while the girls travel to Fruitland to take on the fifth-ranked in class 3 Saxony Lutheran Crusaders who come in at 13-2 and own a 67-59 win over the Lady Eagles during the Holiday Tournament.

On Tuesday, the boys travel up Highway 77 to face conference foe Chaffee (currently 8-7).  The Eagles defeated the Devils during the Christmas Tournament, 61-26.

Wednesday will see the Lady Eagles JV, 6-2, will host the Meadow Heights Varsity, 5-8.  These two squads met up in mid-December at the Bloomfield Tournament.  Oran came away with the 41-37 victory.

On Thursday the girls will travel to Delta, 3-7.  As of now, the plan is to start with the varsity contest and then play two quarters of jv.

Friday with be the rescheduled Homecoming. If you went to the boys game on Thursday you've seen the stage and the backdrop.  If not here it is:



The opponent is 0-11 Bell City.  The Eagles defeated the Cubs to open the Oran Invitational way back in late November, 91-24.

All of those games tip at 6 pm.

On Saturday, the varsity girls will look to begin their march toward a fourth-straight Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament crown, when they face East Prairie  (3-7) at 10am at home.  Oran has defeated East Prairie twice in two meetings thus far, in the opening round of the Chaffee Tournament, 100-30 and the regular season matchup, 74-28.
