Lady Eagles whip Woodland

The Oran High School varsity girls basketball team traveled to Marble Hill last night and had their way with the Cardinals winning 88-30.  The junior varsity did not play.

Leah Cauble outscored the hosts on her own, with 46. She was 15-20 from inside the arc and 4 of 9 from beyond.  She had nine rebounds five assists and four steals.  Jessie Long added 15 points and six boards.  Both played only the first three quarters.

Kaylee Payne had seven points and seven rebounds and a team-high 11 assists to go along with six steals. She also rested during the final period.  Madison Ramsey hit the two shots she took from past the three-point line to account for her six points.  Katie Webb had four points and four rebounds.  Savannah Below hit a trey. Mallory Lowes, Taylor Lowes, Traci Hency and Heather Gosche each had a field goal.  Katelyn Streeter made a free throw to round out the scoring.

Oran put the game away early, leading 31-10 after one and 57-20 at half time.  The Lady Eagles outscored their hosts 31-10 in the second half.

They made 29 of 42 from two-point range for 69% and 8 of 22 from three for 36%  At the free throw line, they were 6 of 13 which is 46%.

They improved to 16-5 and will be back in action on Thursday when they host Poplar Bluff.  The junior varsity tips at 6 pm and it will be Senior Night.

Coach Ethan Evans said, "We got out and controlled the game from the very beginning. Our pressure created some steals and we got some easy shots."
