Track and field competes at Kelly

The Oran High School track and field teams traveled to Kelly High School yesterday to participate in the Johnny Merrick Invitational.  The boys had their best performance to date, scoring 22 points and finishing 11th out of 18 teams.  The girls, however, did not tally a point and were 18th out of 18.

Tyson Goodale claimed gold in the high jump with a leap of 6-00.00.  Langdon Scheeter got the bronze in the 1600M with a time of 4:59.50.  The 4 X 100M team of Goodale, Diesel Cato, Kaiden Massey and Samuel Shoemaker finished sixth with a time of 49.00.  Massey finished sixth in the long jump at 17-01.00.

Massey was 12th in the discus with a throw of 93-00.00.  Shoemaker finished ninth in the 400M with a time of 58.28.  Cato finished 10th in the high jump at 5-00.00 and 16th in the 800 M at 2:28.40.

On the girls side, Traci Hency was 12th in the discus.  She threw 68-02.  Paige Bradley was 17th throwing 58-04.  In the Shot Put, Hency was 17th at 24-01.50  and Bradley was 24th (20-03.75) Savannah Below was 13th in the long jump at 13-05.50,  Savannah Hewitt was 16th in the same event at 13-11.50.  Below was 14th in the 100M at 14.90 and she also participated in the high jump but did not place.

The teams will be back in action on Saturday at Notre Dame for the conference meet that begins at 9 am.
