The Oran High School baseball team closed out it's regular season on a sour note with 14-2 six inning loss to the Kennett Indians today.
The Eagles never got things going as the fell to 13-6 and will start the district tournament on Saturday against the Richland Rebels at 1 pm. Oran is the host team.
Today, the Eagles allowed three runs in the second, five more in the fourth, two in the fifth and then four more in the sixth. Thomas Trankler got the start and lasted three and one-third innings, taking the loss. He gave up eight earned runs on six hits, he struck out four, walked one and hit three batters. Drew Reischman went the final two and two-thirds. He allowed six runs, four earned, on five hits including a home run. He struck out two.
Hunter Schlosser, was named the Bank of Advance star of the game, going two for three with an RBI. Preston Hahn had the only other hit for Oran.
The Eagles committed five errors on the day.
Oran will now need a seven game winning streak in post-season in order to claim their second state championship.
