VB drops 2 at home

The Oran High School volleyball teams were swept in straight sets during its home matches Friday night against the Bloomfield Wildcats. The jv lost 20-25 and 15-25.  The varsity fell 10-25 and 22-25.

Brianna Stause had 6 kills to lead the Eagles.  Jessie Long added 3 along with an ace.  Kenzie Graviett and Megan Tenkhoff each had a kill, while Cassidy Cochran chipped in with an ace.

Coach Monica Collier said this, "I am very proud of the girls. At our practice the day before, we completely changed our lineup and changed some other things. We talked about what it takes to be a competitive team, and how we had to be mentally prepared. The girls were focused and adapted well to the changes. And although we lost the game, they played harder and smarter than I've seen them play in a long time. And if we continue on this trend, we will be a force to be reckoned with. We have the skills. They just need to believe in themselves and be mentally ready for every game."

The junior varisty is now 4-6 on the season, while the varsity is 6-11.

Both teams will be back in action on Monday at 6 pm when they host the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders.
