If today's games would have counted the Oran High School baseball team would be 2-0 right now. This afternoon the Eagles outscored the host Scott City Rams 6-0 during their four innings. Then Oran plated 4 while holding Advance scoreless for 3 innings during a preseason jamboree.
Layne Johnson and Preston Hahn both pitched 2 innings apiece during game 1. Johnson allow the first two to reach but worked out of trouble. He struck out 5 during his stint. Preston Hahn worked a perfect third inning but the Rams loaded the bases with one out in the fourth. A sharp ground ball to third was fielded by Tanner McVay. He stepped on third for out number two and threw the ball home to catcher Clay Sauceda, who tagged out the runner coming home.
Game 2, saw Drew Reischman throw the first two innings against Advance. Clay Sauceda pitched the final inning.
Games will count on Saturday when the Eagles travel to Malden to take on the hosts at 11 am followed by the Caruthersville Tigers at 1 pm.
The games will be broadcast on 104.1 FM.
