What's happenin' (3/28 - 4/1)
Another full week of activities scheduled for Oran Eagle athletes on the calendar.
On Monday, the 1-1 baseball team will travel to Ste. Genevieve for games with class 2 power Valle Catholic and the class 4 Dexter. Game 1 is scheduled for 11 am, game 2 at 1 pm. The games will be played at Valle Catholic High School. Map There is a $2 admission for adults and $1 for students that will be charged.
The two-time defending class 2 state champion Valle Catholic Warriors come in 4-0, last year they defeated the Eagles 11-0. Dexter is 2-3. These two teams split last year. Dexter won at Oran 2-1 and The Eagles defeated the Bearcats during the Notre Dame Show Case at Jackson's Whitey Herzog Field 16-10.
High school baseball and softball will hit the road together on Wednesday when both squads travel to Oak Ridge for 4:30 pm first pitches. The Blue Jays baseball team enters the week 2-3 and is a district foe, while softball currently stands at 1-1 and is not in the same district as the 0-1 Lady Eagles. Last year the Eagles defeated Oak Ridge on the baseball field, 13-1.
Baseball will be back at it on Thursday when they travel to host Charleston at 4:30, for the season's first conference game. Charleston is currently 4-1. Last year, the two teams were rained out twice and did not play.
Also Thursday, Ethan Evans will make his track coaching debut as the the track and field team will open it's season at East Prairie. Start time is 4 pm.
On Friday, the junior high volleyball team will travel to Meadow Heights for a 6 pm start.
