Baseball updates

Class and District updates were just released by the Missouri State High School Activities Association.  They have also issued new rules on pitching limits set to begin this spring.

Oran will remain in Class 1, District 2.  Leopold and Oak Ridge have been moved to District 3.  Delta has been moved closer to home, from District 1 to District 2.  C1D2 has gone from 8 teams down to 7 teams, which means the number 1 seed will now have an opening round bye, which becomes a bigger bonus with the new pitching rules (more on that later).

Class 1 District 2 now consists of:

Advance
Bell City
Delta
Oran
Richland
Scott County Central
Zalma

The new pitching mandate removes "innings pitched" as the determining factor and replaces it with "number of pitches thrown" as the key.
