In the early 70's there was a song called, "Rainy Days and Mondays". That's what we had yesterday, but it didn't get the Eagles down as they romped to a 17-3 mercy-rule victory over the visiting Delta Bobcats.
Denver Elfrink went the distance on the mound in his high school first career pitching start to pick up the win. He threw 5 innings, allowing 3 runs (all earned) on 3 hits. He struck out 9 while walking 4.
Oran scored it's 17 runs on only 7 hits, no Eagle had more than one in the game. Todd Priggel had the big blow with a bases-loaded triple in the first. The team was the recipient of 13 walks, three hit batsmen and 4 Bobcat errors.
Oran improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the Scott-Miss. They will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Scott City to take on the conference rival Rams at 4:30.
