The Oran High School baseball team exploded for 12 first inning runs as they sent 17 to the plate and cruised to a 13-0 victory over the Advance Hornets this afternoon.
Layne Johnson and Todd Priggel combined to throw a no-hitter.
The big blow in the first inning was Clay Sauceda's grand slam home run to straight away center field during his second at-bat of the frame.
The game settled down after that first inning.
Johnson went the first 3 1/3 innings, he struck out 8 and walked 3. Priggel went the final inning and a third. He struck out 2 and walked 1.
Johnson was 2 for 3 at the plate scored twice and drove in 1. Priggel also had 2 hits, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Austin Eftink had a pair of hits and a RBI, while Drew Mitchem drove in 2 with a double.
Johnson improved to 3-1 while the Eagles are now 7-2.
The Eagles will be back in action on Monday for a doubleheader at Charleston. Game 1 is scheduled for 4:15 against Chaffee, with game 2 at 6:30 against the hosts. Both games are conference contests.
