The Oran Eagle baseball team won 4-2 yesterday over the Advance Hornets to earn their way into today's district tournament final against the Bell City Cubs at 4 pm.
Oran scored 3 in the first and 1 more in the second and that would be all they needed as freshman Todd Priggel held the Hornets at bay until a two-out sixth inning two-run homer cut the lead in half. Clay Sauceda came in and got the final out in the sixth and the first of the seventh, before Drew Reischman picked up the save by striking out the two batters he faced.
Priggel was also 2 for 3 at the plate and drove in 2 runs. Sauceda and Austin Eftink each had a RBI.
On the mound, Priggel improved his mark to 2-1 with a save. Reischman picked up his first save of the year.
The Eagles will be making their 7th straight district championship appearance. They are 5-2 in that span having lost the last two appearances to the Cubs.
