The Oran Junior High School boys basketball teams will hit the floor for the first time this season this evening at 6 pm at conference rival Scott County Central. There is a girls game there also that is scheduled to start at 4:30 (it does not involve Oran).
For the first time in a few years, there are enough boys in each class that the sixth grade will not be playing up. But Coach Joe Shoemaker will allow the younger boys to practice each week to help smooth the transition for them.
This year's 8th-grade squad finished last year with a 10-4 record. They were a combo of sixth and seventh-graders at the the time.
