The Oran Junior High School boys basketball teams won one and lost one last night at Oak Ridge. The 7th grade was down by 13 at the half but was able to make it close at the end. They lost 42-36. The 8th grade never trailed and won 46-29.
In the first game, The Eagles were down 7-0 before Luke Peterson made an old-fashioned three about half-way through the first. It was 13-5 after one. At the half, it was 23-10.
Oran was able to claw their way back into the game during the second half but was not able to get over the hump and lost by 6.
Robbie Menz and Kolten Payne both scored 14 and had three treys apiece.
Peterson ended up with five and Camdyn Triblett finished with three.
They hit four of seven from the line for 57%..
The seventh-grade is now 7-2.
Game two saw the Eagles lead from start to finish. Oran was up 28-5 at halftime and cruised to the 17 point victory.
Samuel Shoemaker had 16 points to lead the way. Nick Romas added 10.
Chris Collins had eight, Seth Cauble chipped in five. Quentin Senciboy scored four and Diesel Cato added three.
They made 2 of 5 free throws for 40%.
They are now 8-1.
Both teams will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Chaffee to take on the conference rivals Red Devils at 6 pm.
