The Oran High School boys basketball teams will tip off their seasons this week in the 62nd annual Oran Invitational Tournament. Because Bell City withdrew from the event on short notice, no replacement was available and the junior varsity squad took the number 8 seed. It was decided the varsity would not play the jayvee, so the older team advanced in the winner's bracket and the younger squad went straight to the loser's side.
Tournament action will begin on Monday when #2 Malden takes on #7 Richland at 6 pm. That game will be followed by #3 Advance and #6 Kelly at 7:30.
Oran will not play until Thursday. The junior varsity takes on the loser of Tuesday's Scott Central vs Chaffee contest at 5. The varsity will face the winner between the Braves and the Red Devils at 6:30.
