What's happenin' (4/24-4/28)
Oran High School athletics will resume on Tuesday after a busy weekend.
The 11-2 softball team will travel to Dexter on Tuesday to take on the 6-8 Bearcats. The game starts at 3:45. Track and Field has a meet at Kelly that begins at 4.
On Wednesday, the 7-7 baseball Eagles will host the 3-5 Leopold Wildcats. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30.
Thursday will have track and field competing at Chaffee at 4 pm. Baseball will have a doubleheader at Charleston that also starts at 4. The Eagles will play two conference games. The first against the Scott County Central Braves, a team that is also a district opponent and starts the week at 0-5. That will be followed by a match-up with the host BlueJays who stand at 3-9. Meanwhile, softball hosts a 6-4 Portageville Bulldog squad at 4:30.
On Friday, softball travels down to Bernie to take on the 15-1 Mules.
Saturday has a jayvee round-robin at home. The Eagles will face Chaffee at 10am and Scott City at 2 pm. Chaffee and Scott City will play in between. The Junior Beta Grill will be open on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, the softball team will take part in Swing Pink 2.0, that had originally been scheduled for earlier in the month. The schedule is still fluid (much like the weather). As of now. Oran will face a 5-6 Greenville Bears team at 11 am on Field C. At 3 pm, Oran will face Potosi, their MSHSAA only has three games listed and it shows them 3-0. That game will take place on Field B. At 7 pm on Field D, the Eagles will face Portageville.
