The Oran High School varsity volleyball team won at home for the first time on Thursday night by defeating their conference rivals New Madrid County Central in straight sets 25-20 and 25-17. The junior varsity lost, 24-26 and 13-25.
Kaylee Payne had three kills, three blocks and five digs. Katelyn Streeter also had three blocks, plus eight digs. Savannah Below was credited with three kills, Cassie Cochran had seven digs and Sam Welter served up an ace.
The varsity improved to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in conference. The junior varsity is now 1-4 and 0-2.
The teams will next be in action on Monday when they travel to Malden. First serve against the Greenwave is 6 pm.
