The Oran Junior High School boys basketball teams traveled to East Prairie last night to take on the Eagles in a conference match-up.
In the opener, Oran seventh-grade fell behind 15-3 after one and lost 40-15. Oran's eighth-grade held on in a hard-fought physical contest to pick up a 36-32 victory.
Nate Pobst had four points. Drake Dannennmueller, Jase Fuemmeler and Elijah Shoemaker each scored three. Fuemmeler hit a trey for his score. Cody Albritton had a field goal to round out the scoring.
They were 2-4 from the line for 50% and their record is now 0-5 and 2-9.
The eighth-grade led by seven, 19-12, at the half, but saw the host cut the margin to one after three, 27-26.
Kolton Payne had nine points, including a three-pointer. Nic Massey had eight. He hit a big trey during the final period. Camdyn Triblett finished with seven, Luke Peterson added six. Robby Menz totaled four points and Parker Diebold had two.
They were 4-8 from the free throw line, also for 50%. They improved their mark to 4-1 and 6-5.
Oran will wrap up the regular season Thursday evening at Delta. Game time is 6 pm.
