Eagles Claim Consolation Trophy

The Oran Eagles were able to hold off another opponent on Tuesday afternoon at the Show-me Center to claim the 9th place trophy.

This time it was the Bell City Cubs that fell prey to the Eagles.

Oran jumped out to a quick 13-4 lead but after a Cub time out the momentum changed.  The Eagles lead was down to four by the end of the first period, 17-13 and only two at half, 28-26.

By the end of the third quarter the game was knotted at 36 all.

But the fourth quarter belonged to Oran as they out scored Bell City 22-15 thanks in part to another solid performance from the free throw line to claim the 58-51 victory.

In the final period the Eagles were 10-13 at the charity stripe for 77%.

The Eagles were led by Jacob Priggel with 21 points Max Priggel added 15 including 3 three pointers.  Both also had 7 rebounds along with Hunter Schlosser to lead the team in that category.

Oran is now 7-4 and will host a very good Woodland team on Friday night.
