The Oran Eagles fell to 1-1 on the young season as they lost their quarterfinal OIT match up to the Malden Greenwave 70-63 Thursday night.

The Eagles jumped out to a quick 11-4 lead, but after a Greenwave time out, Malden was able to cut the deficit to three by the end of the quarter as Oran led 15-12.  Malden took the lead in the 2nd period and with the help of a buzzer-beating half court heave was up 29-25 at the half.  A back and forth 3rd quarter had the Eagles down by 3 heading into the final eight minutes.

Although Oran kept it close until the very end, free throw shooting made the difference in the final moments.  During the fourth quarter Malden made 17-19 from the charity stripe while the Eagles only managed 9-16.

Jacob Priggel paced Oran with 24 points, Hunter Scholosser added 21 while Max Priggel chipped in 12.

The Eagles will play for the third place trophy tonight as they take on district foe Advance at 6:30 pm
