Eagles Drop 2nd Straight

The Oran Eagles lost to the Advance Hornets last night 61-44, in the first of what could be four total match ups this year.  The teams will meet at least once more on Feb. 17 in a regular season game.  But there is also the potential of Christmas and district tournament meetings.

Last night, Advance blew open a close game in the 2nd half.  It was a 25-23 at the intermission with the Hornets holding the slim advantage.  But it was all Advance after that as they out scored the Eagles 36-21 the rest of the way dropping Oran 1-2 on the year.  The win gave the #4 seed Hornets the 3rd place trophy.

Jacob Priggel scored 17 to pace Oran.  Hunter Schlosser added 15.

Schlosser was named to the All-Tournament 1st team, Priggel to the 2nd team.

In other action, #1 seed SCC claimed their 7th straight OIT title with a 71-67 victory over #3 seed Malden. Also, #6 Bell City claimed the consolation trophy 71-65 over #5 Kelly.

The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday as they make the long trek to Risco.  The JV, who will be seeing their first action, will tip off at 6 pm.

*UPDATED:  On Tuesday the varsity game will begin at 6pm followed by 2 quarters of jv.
