The Oran Eagles varsity boys basketball team opened their season with a convincing victory over the Richland Rebels on Tuesday night during the 59th Annual Oran Invitational Tournament.
The second seeded Eagles led the 7th seeded Rebels by only 3 after the first quarter 16-13, but increased their lead after each stanza the rest of the way to win going away 73-40. The fourth quarter was the big one for Oran as they outscored Richland 20-2.
Leading the way on offense was Hunter Schlosser with 30 points, Jacob Priggel added 18 while Max Priggel chipped in 12. Jacob Priggel led the team with 9 rebounds.
The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. They will take on the number 3 seed Malden Greenwave who defeated the #6 Bell City Cubs 72-45 in game three. Earlier #1 Scott County Central had no trouble sending #8 Chaffee into the loser's bracket winning big 90-24
