Oran had as much as a 10 point lead in the third quarter but had to fight to hang on for the victory against the Class 3 visitors.
The home team was led by Allie Cummins as she had her third double-double in four games, this time she scored 17 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Ashlyn McIntosh had 10 points.
The JV won their opening game of the season by a score 18-12 in a contest that was limited to 2 quarters. Oran held New Madrid scoreless in the first period and led 7-0. Abby Essner scored 6 to pace the Eagles. Gabby Krapf and Autumn Westrich added four apiece.
Oran will be back in action on Thursday, as they make the long trek to South Pemiscot for a 6 pm tip off.
