In the night cap, Oran, despite missing starting sophomore guard Max Priggel (out due to illness) defeated the Hawks by a final of 67-51 to pick up their 10th win overall against 5 losses.  They are 3-1 in conference play.

In the game the Eagles jumped out to a 12 point first quarter lead 22-10.

But with Max out and Jacob Priggel and Thomas Trankler saddled with two fouls each and sitting on the bench for most of the second period, the Eagles struggled but managed to maintain their lead 32-20 at half.

In the final two quarters Kelly mounted comebacks cutting the lead to 8 on several occasions but Oran was able withstand each rally and after 3 the lead was still 12 at 48-36.

victory.

Oran had four players in double figures.  Hunter Schlosser led the way with 18, Jacob Priggel had 16, Thomas Trankler scored his first 15 points of the season and Garrison Mangles added 10.

Jacob snared 8 rebounds, while Trankler dished out 4 assists and had 5 steals to lead the team in those categories.

For the jv Eagles it was a preview of next Monday's conference tourney opener as Oran will take on this same Kelly team.

Tonight the Eagles found themselves down 9-6 about half way through the first quarter but then went on 16 to 4 run into halftime to hold 22-13 lead.

Oran outscored Kelly in the second half 22-14 to claim the 44-27 victory.

The Eagles were led in scoring by Layne Johnson with 19 points.  He hit 5 from beyond the arc.  Cole Priggel had 16.

The junior varsity is now 5-5 and 1-2 in conference.

Both teams will be back in action on Friday as they travel to St. Vincent of Perryville.  Just like last Friday, this is a very difficult place to play and fan support can make a huge difference.
