But after that slow start it was all Eagles as they outscored their opponent from Bollinger county 48-12 the rest of the way to pick up a convincing 48-17 victory as well as the third place plaque.
Allie Cummins led her team in three statistical categories: points with 16, rebounds with 9 and assists with 6. Ashlyn McIntosh scored 15 and grabbed 7 boards.
Oran is now 7-2 and the varsity will be back in action next Monday evening in the Scott-Mississippi conference tournament at Kelly High School. The 4th seeded Eagles will take on the number 5 seed Delta Bobcats at 8:30.
The junior varsity Eagles, with a record of 2-0, will take on the host school, Kelly on Tuesday at 7pm. Oran is the number 2 seed while Kelly is the third seed. There are only five junior varsity teams competing.
