Varsity Romps over Rams

The Oran Eagles had lost to Scott City twice this season.  The first time, on December 12, they lost by 17.  That final was 54-37.  The 37 points scored by the Eagles that evening was the lowest offensive output of the season to date.  The two teams matched up again in the opening round of the Semissourian Christmas tournament in the 9 pm game on December 26.  This time Oran lost by 2, 54-52.

Well the third time was certainly the charm for the Eagles and it was never even close.  By the time Scott City called a time out with 1:15 left in the first quarter Oran was up 28-7.  That was the score at the end of the first.  Hunter Schlosser scored 15 of his 28 points in the opening eight

minutes.

It would only get worse for the Rams as Oran was up 38-17 when Scott City called a time out with 2:13 left in the first half.  The Eagles were up 43-18 at half time and 61-29 after three to set up the turbo clock in the fourth quarter.  Oran kept the advantage over 30 the rest of the way and won the game 70-37.

Schlosser to go along with his 28 points also had 7 rebounds.  Jacob Priggel scored 18 points and 5 assists. Thomas Trankler had 6 steals and 4 assists.

Oran, now 13-5, will take on #1 seed Scott County Central tomorrow night at 8:30 pm in the championship game.
