Both Lady Eagle teams fell short in their games against the visiting Lady
Bearcats of Greenville.
Varsity Action: Greenville scored first and Oran never led in the 40-31 loss.
The Eagles trailed 11-6 after one and 27-16 at the half.
The deficit increased to 14 after 3 (37-23) before Oran trimmed it to back to single digits late in the final period.
The big difference in the game came at the free throw line. The Bearcats were 14-18, while the home team was only 2-4.
Brianna Stause scored 15, all from beyond the arc, to pace the Lady Eagles. Hannah Scherer and Ashlyn McIntosh both grabbed seven rebounds.
Oran is now 10-8 on the year.
Junior Varsity Action: The younger Eagles looked to be on their way to an easy victory after they jumped out to a 12-4 first quarter lead. By half-time, though, the lead was down to two, 21-19.
The second half was all Greenville as they out-scored Oran 21-5 for the 40-26 victory. The Bearcats hit six treys on the evening including four during the final two quarters.
Oran was led by Olivia Schlosser's seven points, all in the first half. Kenzie Graviett added six, also all in the first half.
The junior varsity now has a record on 3-5.
Upcoming Action: The varsity will be back in action tomorrow evening at conference foe Chaffee at 6 pm. The varsity boys will play after.
Both girls' teams will play at Charleston on Thursday also at 6 pm. The jv will play only two quarters and the varsity will follow.
