The two teams were tied after the first period at 9. The Eagles took an insurmountable lead in the second, as they outscored the Bobcats 16-7, to lead 25-16 at the intermission.
Oran added another point to their lead in the third frame, 34-24 and then held on for the 10 point win.
Todd Priggel scored 21 on the night, including 8 during that important second quarter. Landon Stanberry added 15, with one trey. Tyson Goodale also reached double figures with 11. Gabe Fox chipped in 3 points, going 3-4 from the line.
Overall, the Eagles were 7 of 12 from the charity stripe for 58%.
Coach Shoemaker said, "We switched to a man to man defense in the 2nd quarter and made a little run and we were able to maintain that lead for the rest of the game for the win and the championship. I want to say thanks to the players and parents for all of the hard work that they put in not only during this past season but also the during the off season."
The eighth grade finished 6-0 in conference and 15-1 overall. They also claimed first in the Scott-Miss regular season.
