What's happenin' (12/14-12/18)

'Twas the week before Christmas and all through the gym, the sound of balls bouncing and swishing the rim...

The final week before the Christmas break will see four nights of games.  Two of those will be double-dipping.

On Monday, the undefeated and recently crowned champions of the Lady Red Devil Invitational girls basketball team will travel to New Madrid County Central to take on that set of Eagles.  NMCC is currently 0-3 and are the 14th seed in the 16 team Twin Rivers tournament that starts next Saturday, the 19th.  Last year, Oran picked up a 40-37 win.  Game time is 6 pm.

Also on Monday, the Advance jv tourney continues, Oran will take on Perryville at 7:45 pm.

On Tuesday, the high school boys will travel to East Prairie for a 6 pm conference match.  That set of Eagles are currently 3-1 overall and 1-0 in league play. Last year, Oran picked up a 61-48 victory.

After a Wednesday night off, it will be a "Two for Thursday" as the Lady Eagles are set host South Pemiscot.  Only one score is listed on the school's MSHSAA website.  It was a loss.  Last year Oran picked the 69-25 win.

The other action Thursday will be back at the Advance tournament.  Oran will play for first place if they win on Tuesday at 7:45 pm or for third place if they lose on Tuesday at 6:30.

After a half day of school on Friday, the boys will be back in action and back on the road for yet another conference contest, this time against Delta.  Delta, also a district opponent, is winless on the season.  Last year. these two teams met twice.  The Eagles won both, 84-17 and 89-17.

Merry Christmas and #GoEagles
