Basketball defeated at Delta

The Oran Junior High School girls basketball team lost at Delta last night by a final score of 39-27.  The Eagles fell behind 16-10 after one quarter and could never close the gap.

Hope Woodfin had 8 points and was 2-2 from the line.  Hannah Boshell and Grace Davis both added 6 points.  Rylee Boshell, Skyler Ham and Emma Priggel each chipped in with 2. Ham's came on a 2 of 2 performance on free shots.  Mallory Lowes hit a free throw for her lone tally.  Chloe Prindle and Alyssa Spane both logged minutes but did not score.

As a team team, Oran was 5-8 from the charity stripe for 63%.

Head Coach Ethan Evans said, "They got after us really well defensively. We handled their press good at times and not so good at times. Foul trouble also hurt us."

The eighth grade finishes the regular season at 7-5 overall and 4-3 in Scott-Miss play.

They will be back in action on Saturday at 12:30 as the number 2 seed in the conference tournament when they host Scott County Central.  The Eagles defeated SCC 40-12 on September 27.   The Bravettes are the number 7 seed.
