The Oran High School volleyball team lost it's opening match last night in the SEMO Conference Tournament to Sikeston in three sets, 19-25, 25-17 and 18-25 at Scott City.

Jessie Long had 3 aces, blocks and kills.  Brianna Stause had a pair of aces and a pair of blocks to go along with 4 kills.  Kenzie Graviett pound home 6 kills and added a pair of aces.  Kaylee Payne totaled 4 kills.  Cassie Cochran had 11 assists while Olivia Schlosser dished out 3.

Head Coach Larry Boshell said, "This team battled all night and in the third set it was back and forth, we just came up a little short.  The district tournament starts Monday and we are hoping to compete for a district title."

The Eagles, who had won their pool play division for the first time ever, saw their record drop to 10-13-2, went 8-3 in total sets during the event and 3-1-1 in game play.

Oran will compete next week in the Class 1 District 2 tournament in Bell City.  The Eagles will face the Risco Tigers at 6 pm on Monday.
